Position Summary Gesa Credit Union is seeking an experienced individual to join the Credit Union in the role of Vice President of Internal Audit. Reporting to the Supervisory Committee (with a dotted line to the General Council), this position will plan, organize, and direct all audit functions to ensure the safety and soundness of the Credit Union’s assets and that the organization is in compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations.

SUMMARY: Assist the VP Internal Audit with their responsibility for overseeing the safety and soundness of the Credit Union’s assets by evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the Credit Union’s internal control procedures, adherence to rules and regulations and internal policies and procedures. Plans, conducts and reports results of audits of the credit union’s processes as assigned by the VP Internal Audit. All Internal Audit activity is guided by the annual audit plan which is approved and overseen by the Supervisory Committee.

The NCUA announced a new call report schedule Tuesday that is intended to set a standard deadline for the reports and to give credit unions more time to file them.
Beginning with the Dec. 31, 2016, reporting cycle, federally insured, natural-person credit unions will be required to file their reports by the final Sunday of the month following the end of the quarter.
