The Senior IT Auditor will execute the internal audit program in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), the COSO internal control framework, and the COBIT framework, including evaluations of reporting, compliance, and operations in the context of prescribed laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.  The objective of the internal audit program is to identify matters that have the potential to adversely affect the ability of the Credit Union to achieve objectives and identify opportunities for the improvement of efficiency and controls, while effectively communicating issues and remediation to the appropriate individuals.

Essential Functions include:

  • Independently evaluates the effectiveness of information system controls (IT general controls and application controls)
  • Integrates IT and business process risk and control considerations into the audit process
  • Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with stakeholders regarding information requests, testing, and issues/recommendations
  • Effectively coordinates with counterparts in Internal Audit, Risk, Fraud, Information Security, and compliance, as well as with the external auditors
  • Maintains an awareness of business and technology initiatives that require internal control guidance and consults as needed
  • Recommends changes to the audit program as needed based on changes in the environment
  • Demonstrates understanding of all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations governing the Credit Union

This role does not have supervisory responsibility.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience performing and/or leading IT audits or conducting IT security
  • Data extraction and analytics using tools such as ACL or IDEA
  • Experience working in collaborative, integrated audit teams (operational and IT audit)
  • CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIA, or related certification

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Degree in business, computer science, management information systems, finance, or accounting
  • Experience working with data visualization tools, such as Power BI
  • Financial services experience
  • Experience working in an agile environment

Work Environment:
This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment

Physical Requirements:
Sitting frequently, walking occasionally, use of hands frequently, hearing constantly, talking frequently, exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
