Vendor Management From the Operations Perspective - Today’s intricate web of vendors, suppliers, affiliates, and other third parties can expose organizations to an array of risk management challenges. As third-party relationships grow more complex, organizations are exposed to new types of financial, compliance, and operational risks. Identifying these risks, assessing their potential impact, and determining appropriate mitigation strategies requires both experience and an objective perspective. Presented by Crowe Horwath this session explores recent trends in effective vendor risk management programs. Highlights of these key trends include program design and scalability based upon the size and complexity of an organization's operations and the utilization of technology to facilitate workflow and enhance reporting.

Current trends:

*         Regulatory focus

*         Industry best practices

*         Utilization of technology

Scale a program to the size/complexity of a credit union's specific operations:

*         Vendor management relationship lifecycle

*         Vendor population; how to identify, determine and maintain

*         How to identify and assess relevant risks - on-boarding and on-going management

Utilization of technology

*         What to reasonably expect from a technology solution

*         Key factors to consider in selecting a solution

*         Best practices for technology implementation
