FFIEC Cybersecurity Assessment Tool
In response to the evolving cybersecurity landscape of financial institutions, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) has released its new cybersecurity assessment tool.
Financial institutions of all asset sizes are expected to use the assessment tool and it’s supporting documents to assess their cybersecurity risk and preparedness. The assessment tool maps to the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework and the FFIEC Information Technology Examination Handbook.
About the Presenter
Catherine Bruder, CPA, CITP, CISA, CISM, CTGA, is a Shareholder with Doeren Mayhew, a CPA firm in Troy, Michigan. She has over twenty-six years of experience providing audit and information technology assurance services. Catherine evaluates and designs internal control processes and system management designs for financial institutions, service organizations, technology vendors, data centers, health care insurers and manufacturers. Catherine is a national expert in Service Organization Control reporting – SOC 1, 2 and 3.
Catherine is on the AICPA SOC Task Force and a former member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Information Management and Technology Assurance Executive Committee (IMTA) and Risk Assessment Task Force.
