Course Description:  A panel discussion that will address the role and conduct of the Supervisory Committee.  A panel will discuss the challenges and ways of meeting them. 
 
Jay Bowman is a Director at Accume Partners, a leading provider of internal audit and business advisory services to financial institutions.  Jay served over 25 years with the Federal Reserve Banks of Philadelphia and Atlanta.  He is a Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).  He recently served as chair of the supervisory committee of a $1.4 billion Pennsylvania credit union.

Mark Cantor, NCUA Supervisory Examiner.  Mark has been with the NCUA for over 20 years.  Mark is the supervisory examiner for the Hudson Valley and New York City.  He is responsible for implementing the safety and soundness program for approximately 100 credit unions with more than $10 billion in assets from Albany to Staten Island. He currently manages a group of 10 examiners.  His group includes a broad range of credit unions, from several of the region’s largest to the smallest developing credit unions in the five boroughs of NYC.

Victor A. Howe, CPA, Partner, McGladrey & Pullen LLP.  Victor is the Eastern Region leader in McGladrey’s National Credit Union practice.  With more than 22 years of experience specializing in serving credit unions and their service organizations, he is responsible for providing services to credit unions throughout the East Coast.

Compliance Update

Course Description:   Compliance update which will include Truth in Savings, Regulation Z (Credit CARD Act), Regulation E, SAFE Act and a look ahead to 2011
 
Michael Carter, CUCE, Director of Compliance, Credit Union Association of New York  (CUANY).  Michael Carter joined the Credit Union Association of New York in 2001 and has served as Director of Compliance since 2009. Under his leadership, the Compliance Department provides affiliated credit unions with information and guidance regarding the laws and regulations that affect their daily operations.   Prior to his role as Director of Compliance, Michael served as a Management Consultant, Compliance Education Specialist and Senior Compliance Specialist for the Association.

Auditing for PCI Compliance

Course Description:  To familiarize attendees with Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance & share tools to perform a PCI audit.
 
Dan Juneau is Executive Vice President for Compliance Services at Security Compliance Associates.  He is a former Chief of Police, and also served for 10 years as the Director of Corporate Security for a major bank holding company where he developed and maintained the bank’s security program, data security program, and disaster recovery program.

Continuing Professional Education Credits
ACUIA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.  Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be addressed to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, 150 Fourth Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37219-2417 or www.nasba.org. No prerequisite courses, advance preparation or experience is required for admittance to the meeting.

Cancellation, Substitution & Refund Policy
Registration cancellations prior to September 27, 2010 will incur no penalty. Cancellations from September 27 – October 1 are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.  Cancellation notices must be sent in writing to the ACUARP Executive Office. No refunds will be made on cancellations made after October 1, 2010 due to committed funds and forfeited fees cannot be applied to future meetings due to IRS reporting requirements.
 
Substitutions from within the same organization are permitted at no additional cost if received by September 27.  All substitutions must be in writing and accompanied by a completed registration form.
 
Attire 
Attire for this educational meeting is business casual. As with most events, the temperature in different meeting rooms tends to vary. We recommend that you dress in layers to accommodate the variance in temperatures.
