Our next meeting will be Friday, April 8th at 11:30 at America First Credit Union.  The topic will be Cybersecurity, one of the topics requested by a chapter member and certainly a hot topic. Our speaker will be David Maberry from PricewaterhouseCoopers.  David is the Managing Director with PwC's Information Technology and Audit Solutions national practice.  In this role, David is responsible for leading Technology focused Internal Audit Solutions delivery in the Financial Services, Retail and Consumer, and Technology sectors.  See below for Daivid's  resume.

 David Maberry - Managing Director, IT Audit Solutions

Background:  David is a Managing Director with PwC's Information Technology and Audit Solutions national practice.  In this role, David is responsible for leading Technology focused Internal Audit Solutions delivery in the Financial Services, Retail and Consumer, and Technology sectors for the Texas and Middle America Markets.

David has developed internal audit focused cyber security driven strategies for multiple Fortune 500 companies by working with key stakeholders to achieve key strategic objectives, including financial reporting, third-party compliance, and decision support to align with security related goals and objectives. In this capacity, he has developed and provided direction for information technology focused risk management programs within multiple industries.   

David is a frequent guest lecturer at national and local IIA and ISACA conferences, the University of Oklahoma, the University of Southern California, California State University – Los Angeles and Texas A&M University on areas such as social media risk, security focused auditing and enterprise risk management. In addition, he was a contributing author on version one of the IIA’s 2006 Global Technology Audit Guide 4: Management of IT Auditing.

Relevant current experience

David has spent the last five years as the Chief Risk Officer for a major Financial Services company.  During his tenure expanded the scope of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program to encompass other entity holdings, which included a bank, a trust company, a property management company, a property & casualty company and an insurance brokerage. He also lead numerous regulatory and compliance risk related filings for the organization and, in the process, standardized risk and control measurement across the organization.

In addition, David lead the enterprise’s cyber security function where he was responsible for updating and consolidating the security infrastructure for domestic and international service lines of business through the creation and standardization of a standardized security framework that focused on risk and exception based monitoring of security related exposures.
